exploratory laparotomy with removal of pelvic mass

Doctor did removal retroperitoneal pelvic mass (Lap), I am not sure what the CPT® code should be I have researched it to the best of my ability and I am lost...Please help someone!

That is laporascopic. She said this was done via laporotomy.

58952 is not a lap procedure but uses an full abdominal incision...I do not think this is the correct code givin your description...Hope this helps

could you use 49000 - exploratory laparotomy, exploratory celiotomy with or without biopsy?

Please read 49010 (exploration +/ Bx), and 49203-49205 (excision) to see if one applies.

It's hard to say. I would need more information. Is it for malignancy? Is it recurrent?

There are several questions that I am being asked when doing the walk thru in my software.

Is this a recurrent mass or initial? Were the falopian tubes removed?

Initial and no the falopian tubes were not removed.

Look at 49203 - 49205 and which one is best for you. I did the walk thru for this via laparotomy and it took me to this code set.
