Medicare Units for 95004 and 95024

I am having trouble finding the number of units covered per year for Allergy Testing codes 95004 and 95024. Does anyone know? I found the LCD on the codes, but it does not specify the number of units allowed per year. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question: A physician tests a patient, who complains of skin rashes, for reactions to dogs, cats, ragweed, oak, maple, penicillin, dust mites, and bees. How should I report 95004 and 95010?

Answer: You should report 95004 x 4 units for the ragweed, oak, maple, and dust mites, and 95010 x 4 units for the dog, cat, penicillin, and bee stings.

Dermatologists have many ways of determining the cause of a patient's skin rashes. Moreover, they usually want to test several substances at once. Bear in mind that each substance counts as a separate test. Be sure to code for each allergen administered by putting the number in the "units" field of your claim form.

CPT® 95024:
In this type of test the physician or technician introduces small amounts of different allergens into the epidermis and non–vascular superficial dermis through intracutaneous (intradermal) injection. After a predetermined interval of time (e.g. 15 minutes) the area is visually checked for any visible allergic reaction, which indicates that a person may or may not be allergic to the particular allergen. The results are interpreted and reported.

The number of tests should be specified.

I hope this helps.
