Full Thickness Skin Graft Repair
If a surgeon uses a full thickness skin graft to repair a defect from a lesion excision on the eyelid, can he also code a seperate full thickness skin graft for the donor site repair of the ear? Keeping in mind both of the anatomical sites are grouped into CPT® 15260
Thanks
Michelle
re: Full Thickness Skin Graft Repair
15260 Full thickness graft, free, including direct closure of donor site, nose, ears, eyelids, and/or lips; 20 sq cm or less
Note that the code description includes the phrase "direct closure of the donor site." Therefore, you would not assign a procedure code for the donor site closure.
