ABN Reference Tool for Physician Offices
I need an ABN Reference Tool (i.e., Cheat Sheet) to advise the office staff of when medical necessity may be an issue for certain procedures.
Can anyone confirm whether the following are always non-covered items, versus denials for lack of medical necessity for certain diagnoses?
- EKG (93000)
- Zoster Vaccination (90736)
- 97802 (Medical Nutritional Counseling, Initial)
- 97803 (Medical Nutritional Counseling, Subsequent)
Are there other procedure codes that I should alert the staff about?
re: ABN Reference Tool for Physician Offices
Though not a tool, I did write an article on my blog that may help you.
