Notice of Dispute
We received a Notice of Dispute from Workmans Comp & denied the claim. Do I have to bill the patient or bill it to the patient's health insurance? Need help, thanks!
re: Notice of Dispute
Send it to the health insurance, if it's denied for liability of worker's comp carrier you can appeal with the denial from the worker's comp policy. If it's denied for timely filing, you can appeal with proof that it was submitted to the worker's comp policy within timely filing limits and billed the health insurance right away when the worker's comp denied it.
Some health insurance plans will not cover worker's comp injuries at all (Cigna is really bad about it) but most in my experience will cover it with the worker's comp denial letter submitted.
