Medicare
I was told by a Nursing home facility staff that when a Medicare patient is in a Medicare bed at their facility and brings the patient to our office to be seen by doctor that they, the Nursing home facility, would be billling Medicare for the visit, therefore our office would invoice the Nursing home for the visit to our office and not bill Medicare? Is this correct?
re: Medicare
We file all with Medicare. They pay but recoup the lab then we bill the nursing home. They do not recoup the office visit.
re: Medicare
Office visit will be paid.
re: Medicare
The distinction is whether the patient is "SNF" status (Part A floor). Then, the nursing home needs to approve and pay you - from their part A funds - for any procedures / treatments you provide (beyond the office visit). Search CMS for info on Skilled Nursing Facility billing requirements.
re: Medicare
Mr. Medicare seen in april and a PFT was performed and was given injection. We billed Medicare and was paid for the office visit but not the PFT and meds. Do we forward an invoice to the Nursing home for the PFT and meds?
