Billing Dermatology codes together

We billed 11100 and 17000 on the same encounter. Cigna denied the biopsy codes indicating they were part of a CMS NCCI column1/column2 edit. We looked at the list and could not see that this was true.

Here is the answer from my claims scrubber:

CCI edit: 11100 is bundled into 17000. You may override the edit with a modifier (58, 59, 78, 79, 91, LT, RT, E1-E4, FA, F1-F9, TA, T1-T9, LC, LD, RC, LM, RI, XE, XP, XS, XU) on 11100 if circumstances and documentation support 11100 being distinct from 17000

Yes there is a conflict. What are the diag codes? What are you trying to destroy and what are you trying to biopsy? They also have 10 post op with each other. You might need a modifier for distinct service.
