Speech Therapy CPT's

What is the correct way to bill speech therapy session split between 92507 25 minutes and 92609 (use of speech device) 10 minutes, we have been billing 1 unit of each and gotten reimbursed FFS for both procedures (the second procedure discounting of course)

Is this legitimate, considering that speech services are not timed units? Is 92507 inclusive of 92609? If not,What would be the minimum for a second procedure to be billled?

re: Speech Therapy CPT's

There is no "time" requirement for code 92507. There is no "time" requirement for 92609. Medicare CCI edits list code 92507 to be included in code 92609. If one service is at a different episode of care on same day modifier 59 could be placed on code 92507.

re: Speech Therapy CPT's

What if the therapist did 10 minutes of 92609 and 25 minutes of 92507, I would suppose only the 92507 should be billed, and not the 92609. Am I understanding you correctly?

Thanks for your help.
