Aspen interspinous device

Per Nass recommendation, the Aspen device should be billed with unlisted 22899. Does everyone agree and has anyone been paid billing this code? Thanks, Shelly

In 2010 the AANS and AAOS recommend using 22841 for the Aspen Spinous Process Fixation System.
The CPT® Knowledge Base recently recommended using 22899 to report the Aspen device.
The 2010 AHA Coding Clinic also recommended using 22899 for the Aspen device.
I believe now the AANS and AAOS also recommend using 22899.
