We had a pt come in for an office visit to have the packing removed. his primary dx is 682.1, is there another dx I should use to state that we removed the packing in the neck? Is there a different procedure code I should use other than the standard 992XX CPT® codes?or in addition to?

You probably want to use dx 874.8 or 874.9 open wound neck (see codes) and the Cellulitis as secondary. Your e/m code includes simple dressing changes and removal.

If the patient is in the global period from a surgery then the packing removal would be included in the global period. Need to be more specific regarding the history and care.
