Admit/DC same day - Inpt - Medicare

Is a 99234 - 99236 as inpatient POS payable by Medicare? I'm 99% sure I've seen these pay but I have someone telling me otherwise.

It's actually Tufts Medicare Preferred we're having a problem with. They wont pay the Admit/DC visits for inpts. Anyone else having this issue?

if they are admitted and discharged the same day, then wouldn't you code an observation code?

Physicians who admit a patient to observation care for a minimum of 8 hours, but less than 24 hours and subsequently discharge on the same calendar date shall report an Observation or Inpatient Care Service (Including Admission and Discharge Services) CPT® code (99234-99236).

Pt admitted as inpt and then d/c'd same day.

99234-99236 should be billed as OP POS 22.
