NEW PATIENT office visit

My office has some conflicting view points on how to bill a NEW PATIENT office visit. Because patient has 2 different injury date on 09/15/2015 & 09/16/2015. Dr would be same facility. whether we need bill two new patient office visit for two dates or else one is new patient and another one is established visit. Can any one assist this. Thank you.

re: NEW PATIENT office visit

A patient cannot be a new patient with a provider who is billing under the same tax ID#, if the provider already saw the patient previously on one day and came back the next day with a different injury, the patient is now established regaradless of the fact he has a new injury. I would advise you to get a CPT® book and read the guidelines in reference to how to bill New & Established patients visits:)

also there has to be a 3 year absence from the practice before the patient becomes a new patient again:)

also if you have multiple providers and they all bill under the same tax ID#, and they have been seen previously in the last 3 years by a different provider, and see another provider in the practice, they are still established!!!
