11642, 13151-59, 17000-59 medicare

Billed 11642, 13151-59, and 17000-59 to medicare. All were paid except 11642 they state that a modifier is missing. I realize now that I should not have put the 59 on the 13151. Would this have been paid if I did not put the 59 on there?

Should've billed 17000, 11642-59, 13151-59. Mod only belongs on "column 2" codes.

The actual reason for surgery was 11642 so would putting the 17000 change how they pay for the primary CPT®?

I don't know what Medicare pays you, but the codes are subject to multiple procedure reduction. 11642, 17000 would pay at 50% allowed amount. 13151 would have the higher allowed amount paying at 100%.
