Dual lumen PICC
New at PICC lines. I usually code CPT® 36560 for PICC's (chest)
Procedure report below reads;
Neck and upper chest were prepped. Vascular access was gained to the left internal jugular vein using ulatrasound guidance and micropuncture technique. Attempt to pass wire into right atrium was unsuccessful due to significant compressive right hilar adenopathy. Therefore port placement was aborted and a left dual lumen PICC was placed.
This is the just of the procedure. What is the difference? Does dual lumen PICC mean I need to use a different code?
Appreciate any help : )
