NDC code...Still...10 digits with a hyphen...ARG
So, I get my NDC codes directly off of my bottles that my clinical staff are drawing the medication out of - they are 10 digit codes with a hyphen. Gateway and ECW are giving me errors stating I need 11 digits, with NO hypens.
I went to the site given in the other topics (http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/InformationOnDrugs/ucm142438.htm) and when I type in my codes, they come up as "no records found" and when I look up by Proprietary Name, I get a 8 digit code - with hypens!!
Can anyone help...??
Thanks

re: NDC code...Still...10 digits with a hyphen...ARG
All NDCs are required to be reported in an 11-digit 3 segment format of 5-4-2... you may need to add a zero to the correct segment that does not follow this format... for example, if your NDC is in a 4-4-2 format, you would add a preceding zero to the first segment of numbers; likewise, if your NDC is in a 5-3-2 format, you would add a preceding zero to the second segment of numbers, and so on...
