facility vs non-facility
I am a coder for a family practice group.
we currently use the non-facility rvu's for our billing.
We do see our patients in the hospital. (which is not our facility) should we bill non facility rvu's for both the clinic and hospital?
Some of our payors are paying at the facility level.
Thank you so much for your time.
facility vs non-facility
If it is an outpatient clinic of a hospital--it is a facility setting. A facility setting has the hospital taking the practice expenses/overhead. If a free-standing "office" in a facility and you pay rent at fair market value for space and take all expenses as your own (laundry, supplies, overhead etc--you MAY have an office SOS. Should have attorney look at your arrangement or contract.
