CPT® Code 63042,59 denied inclusive to 63047

Can CPT® 63042 be billed w/63047? please advise if so. if not please advise why not. i have looked in the CPT® and do not see anything that states they can not be.

You need to appeal with the notes. It is included in the CCI edits, but is modifier allowed. your note needs to support billing mod 59.

63042 and 63047 can NOT be reported for the same level (L2-3). If 63042 was performed at L1-2 and 63047 was performed at L2-3 then you can bill both by appending the 59 modifier to 63042.
