consults done in observation
Medicare is denying 99219 and 99235 codes done in observation as incorrect CPT® billed. What is the correct code to use for a consult done in observation for Medicare when we are not the admitting physician?

Sorry.. Medicare does not accept consult codes. The correct codes would be 99234-99236. What did Medicare actually say about the denial Did your patient recently have surgery or in the global period? Sometimes the best bet is to call them directly and see if they will help you.
